Madliena

Madliena is regarded as one of the most exclusive locations on the Maltese Islands. Traditionally Madliena forms part of the village of Gharghur, however as from the early 90's it started forming part of the then new locality of Swieqi in the outskirts of St. Julians. The name of the village derives from an old chapel dedicated to Saint Mary Magdelene.

The Madliena tower, which served as a beacon, was used mostly by the Knights of Saint John. The Chapel, built in 1490, was demolished in 1880 to make way for the building of a fortress along the Victoria Lines by the British forces.

Madliena, and the bordering High Ridge is situated on high grounds overlooking Bahar ic-Caghaq Bay and St. Andrew's. Due to Its close proximity to St. Julians it slowly developed into an elite residential area replete with the most exclusive villas and chalets, all enjoying uniquely large gardens and enjoying fantastic sea and country views.

A latest addition to the location is Madliena Village, the only apartment's complex in the area. Madliena Village lies on a tranquil hillside location overlooking the picturesque Gharghur Valley, in an exquisite location just a short walk away from the medieval village of Gharghur and 10 minutes from the bustling commercial and entertainment sea side districts of Sliema and St. Julians Bay.

Each of the luxurious Villa Apartments features spacious living rooms and terraces overlooking breathtaking views over the valley and the Mediterranean Sea beyond. The large, high-level open air swimming pool and sun-deck terraces, a gymnasium as well as the carefully designed pedestrian pathways, underlying garages and landscaped gardens are an added attraction to the development.

Madliena Village benefits from a Special Designated Area status allowing maximum non-Maltese buyers flexibility in buying and renting.
